Inter Miami initiate talks to sign Atlético Madrid’s Rodrigo de Paul | OneFootball

Fabrizio Romano reports that Inter Miami have initiated talks with La Liga side Atlético Madrid to sign Rodrigo de Paul, who is open a move to the MLS.

The 31-year-old is entering the final 12 months of his current deal at Atlético, where De Paul has been playing his football since 2021 following his €35m transfer from Udinese. During his time in Madrid, the Argentine has played 187 games across all competitions for Diego Simeone’s side, scoring 14 goals and providing 26 assists. He was also a part of Lionel Scaloni’s Argentina squad that won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

According to Romano, Inter Miami have high ambitions following their participating at the FIFA Club World Cup, with De Paul high on their priority list. Javier Mascherano’s side sit seventh in the MLS Eastern Conference, 10 points adrift of leaders FC Cincinnati but have four games in hand given their appearance at the Club World Cup.
