The Nerazzurri were held goalless for almost 80 minutes at San Siro, until a set piece helped the home side to break the deadlock.

As the corner was swung in by Hakan Çalhanoğlu, talisman Lautaro Martínez had a header deflected into the back of the net, becoming the first foreign player to reach double figures for goals in six different Serie A seasons.

With the three points, Inter rise to the top of the Italian top flight, but will be overtaken by Napoli should they beat Como on Sunday.
