The Daily Mail’s Chelsea Confidential is always worth a read when it comes out midweek, and this edition is no exception.
He makes some really interesting counter claims to those emerging from Germany about the Blues’ interest in Jamie Gittens.

Over the last few weeks, the chatter has gone from the sort of low buzz we had in the background in January to something far more intense. Top German sources like Christian Falk said that Borussia Dortmund’s asking price had tumbled from an unrealistic €100m to something closer to €50m, and that it was the Reading-born kid’s “dream” to play in the Premier League.
Then our own source claimed that Gittens would cost something like €60m, and would see his salary doubled were he to move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea Confidential has pushed back a little against some of the more excited claims from the continent. He says that “the Blues are definitely interested” in Gittens, but that the reports from Germany about a deal being close are “slightly premature.”
It’s all tied in to the issue of Jadon Sancho too. Gittens is another right footed left winger, and his arrival feels like it would make Sancho surplus to requirements. There have been rumours that we could sell Sancho to Dortmund as part of a swap for Gittens, but this isn’t mentioned explicitly here.
Everything we’ve read has said Chelsea have already triggered the purchase clause for Sancho, while Confidential insists that nothing has been decided yet.
Whatever happens, it looks like all parties will have something interesting to say on this one as the summer develops – there could be a few layers to this.
