Injury news: Latest on Ederson and Dias plus Rodri progress update | OneFootball

Pep Guardiola says his player availability is mostly unchanged from the last game against Leicester City.

Ederson, Ruben Dias, Matheus Nunes and John Stones were all missing from our 2-0 win over the Foxes, along with long-term absentees Oscar Bobb and Rodri.

Though Nunes and Ederson recently returned to training, it seems likely that the City boss will have the same players to choose from for our home clash with West Ham United on Saturday as he did for the match at the King Power Stadium last week.

Asked what the latest team news was, Guardiola replied: “[It is] similar to where we were for Leicester.

“[Ruben] is getting better but is not ready for tomorrow and yesterday Eddy trained better.

"It was the first training session without disturbance in his leg..”

Pep was also asked about reports that Rodri was targeting a return to action before the end of the current campaign.

The Spaniard required ACL surgery after injuring his knee against Arsenal and was effectively ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Responding to the question of whether he could return sooner, the boss replied: “I hope so. It is important  he recovers well.

"If at the end of the season will be good. The target is recovery well to be ready at the end of the season. This is the target."
