Real Madrid star Alaba has recently undergone surgery once again following a fresh knee injury.
The Austrian international had torn the internal meniscus of his left knee and had to go through surgery in order to proceed.
The operation was done by Doctor Manuel Leyes and was supervised by the medical team of Real Madrid.
After successfully going through surgery, David Alaba has posted a message for fans, confirming that the process was done successfully.
The veteran defender also vowed to return to action as soon as possible so that he can contribute once again for the team.
“Surgery went well and already looking ahead! My focus is clear: return as quick as possible and stronger to give my everything on the pitch. Thank you for your love and support. God will be with me all the way! See you very soon” he posted on X.
Reports suggest Alaba’s surgery could rule him out for the remainder of the La Liga campaign.
However, there is hope that the defender can return to action for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup which starts June 14.
Real Madrid are likely to try and keep hold of their veterans for this tournament, with the club reportedly keen on completing ‘express renewals’ for Lucas Vazquez and Luka Modric.
One would expect Alaba, too, to be available for the FIFA Club World Cup, which in turn, could act as a pre-season for the defender who has struggled with injuries lately.
As a matter of fact, the former Bayern Munich star has featured in only 14 competitive matches this season, failing to muster even 600 minutes of action.
Alaba will be hoping these injuries woes will subside for the coming season.
