Charlton Athletic have tasted defeat just twice in their last 20 games as they continue to make a late bid to crash the promotion parties being planned in either Wycombe or Wrexham at the beginning of May.

There have been plenty of standout performers in Nathan Jones' squad over the past three months, but the impact Kayne Ramsay has had on the club's incredible run of form as of late cannot go unnoticed.

Since his return from an MCL injury which took him out of action for three months, Charlton have won nine of their last 12 games, keeping clean sheets in six of the 12 also.

The former Harrogate Town man has only been at the club for a year, but is now Charlton Athletic's most prized asset, according to FLW's Charlton Athletic fan pundit, Emma Harknett.

We asked Emma which player they felt Charlton Athletic could sell for the most money in the summer if the right offer came in.

Emma was quick to praise how versatile Ramsey can be across the backline, saying: "Before [his MCL injury], he was playing right wing-back and he was outstanding, but since coming back from injury he's dislodged Alex Mitchell from right centre-back.

"He has talent, skill and incredible work rate. He makes outstanding forward runs and recoveries, and the partnership he's built with Lloyd Jones and Macaulay Gillesphey has been absolutely outstanding. He's been an absolute rock."

Because of Ramsay's ability to play different roles in defence, and the fact that he still has two years remaining on the contract he signed in February 2024, Emma feels that Ramsay is Charlton's most valuable asset.

"A lot of the valuation on him depends on where we're playing next season," they explained. "If we are in the Championship - which I hope we are - I'd be looking in excess of £4m because of age and contract length."

As is the case with many prized assets, Charlton fans will be hoping that Kayne Ramsay will remain at the Valley for seasons to come.

That likelihood is increased if Nathan Jones' side achieves promotion this season of course, but Emma feels that the owners at Charlton are doing a much better job now in keeping their promising assets unless a good enough offer is received, after they rejected a £3 million bid for then 19-year-old striker Miles Leaburn in 2023.

"I think the days are gone where Charlton would sell their youngsters on the cheap. Now we make sure we get the right money," she said.

"I'd say £4 million plus but obviously we don't want to sell him. He's a great asset and I think he would be a player who would really thrive in the Championship if we were to get there."
