Chelsea have made a good start to the season under Enzo Maresca, but star of the future Andrey Santos is making a big impact in France.
The Blues signed Santos from Brazilian side Vasco da Gama for a reported fee of £13m in January 2023 but he spent the rest of the season back on loan in Brazil and joined up with the Blues that summer.
The midfielder impressed in pre-season under Mauricio Pochettino, but was sent on loan to Nottingham Forest to gain Premier League experience, which turned out to be a disaster as he made just two appearances and was recalled in January.
Santos was sent to Strasbourg for the second half of the campaign and after a slow start found his feet and put in some impressive performances.
There was talk the 20-year-old might be part of Maresca’s squad but he was sent back to Strasbourg and has made a very impressive start to the season.
The Brazilian has scored three goals in four appearances and has already picked up a Ligue 1 Young Player of the Month award.
