Aston Villa have a two-goal deficit to overturn after Paris Saint-Germain beat the Premier League side 3-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final last week at the Parc des Princes. However, there is still optimism in the Aston Villa camp.

“There is massive belief in the dressing room. I know most people wrote us off before this tie but in the first leg, we gave a good account of ourselves,” began Morgan Rogers. Aston Villa had taken the lead through Rogers before goals from Désiré Doué, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Nuno Mendes ensured that PSG headed to Villa Park with a commanding lead.

“If anyone is going to turn it around, it is going to be us. It’s down to us and we are excited for the challenge,” added Rogers. Unai Emery is hoping that his side will feed off the atmosphere at Villa Park. “I have experiences coming back from results, positively and negatively. Now, it is something different. We want to write here the history with Aston Villa […] we need to use Villa Park like a fortress. We have felt it a lot of times. We have to believe,” said former PSG manager Emery.
