Milan van Ewijk has reportedly caught the eye of Fulham following previous high-level interest in the Coventry City full-back.

There's a chance that, alongside the Dutchman, many of his other talented teammates could leave the club this summer now that they have been denied an opportunity at promotion by Dan Ballard's last-minute header for Sunderland.

Marco Silva's side have been tracking the 24-year-old since 2021, when he played for Heerenveen in the Eredivisie, according to Standard Sport, and were linked to him again in January. He has also been previously associated with a move back to his home country.

Premier League future predicted for Milan van Ewijk following Fulham links

Chris Deez, Football League World's Sky Blues fan pundit, is expecting Van Ewijk to leave Coventry this summer, two years on from when they paid around £3.4 million for him. Deez believes that the full-back would be able to succeed in the Premier League if he gets a move to the right club.

He said: "I love van Ewijk. I can't imagine that there are many Coventry fans who don't. I felt terrible for him for the mistake that he made in the first-leg of the play-offs against Sunderland.

"He's been fantastic in his two seasons here. Obviously a bit up and down this season, but once he found form he was back to his best, and that came in the second half of the season under Frank Lampard.

"I'd be absolutely stunned if we managed to keep him. I obviously would like to. You never want to lose your best players, but at least the positive is we should surely we'd be looking at £10-15 million for him, especially when the likes of Fulham are interested.

"I know Galatasaray before that were interested, I want to say Lazio as well, so some pretty big teams have been looking at him. I'd love to see him go to the Premier League - I think he would adapt really well. He's fast, he's strong, he's got that long throw about him as well. He tracks back really well.

"I think he'd be perfect for a mid-to-upper-table team in the Premier League, like your Fulhams, your Brentfords, maybe teams that are trying to get back up to that position, like Crystal Palace or Everton, any of those sorts of teams.

"I don't think he's ready for a big six team quite yet, but if we can get two or three times what we paid for him, then that could buy us half a squad of players, half a first-team, and we are potentially looking at losing three or four of our best players now, so the more money we can get the better.

"It'd be really sad to see him go, even though he's only been here a short time in terms of football, but it'll at least soften the blow if we get some money to reinvest."

Ruben Amorim could be the perfect coach for Milan van Ewijk

Players like van Ewijk - wide defenders who can bomb up and down the touchline all game and offer an attacking threat - are hard to come by. That's why clubs who use a back-three have to target specific styles of footballers for their wing-back positions.

The 24-year-old is, of course, capable of playing in a more traditional back-four as well, but he can do both to a good level, which could make him an under-the-radar option for Manchester United.

If the Coventry man was able to deal with the pressure that comes with playing at Old Trafford that so many of his counterparts have struggled with since the end of Sir Alex Ferguson's days in charge, he could be a really smart pick-up for Man United as a challenge to Diogo Dalot's right-wing-back position.
