This is how the Premier League form table looks on Sunday morning.
The morning after the night before…
I think some Newcastle United fans needing to have a little bit of perspective.
We were all gutted to see how the Aston Villa match worked out on Saturday.
However, as I say, some perspective is most definitely needed by all of us, BUT some of us in particular.
The world has not ended with one defeat, I repeat, the world has not ended with one Newcastle United defeat.
Here is the updated Premier League form table on the morning of Sunday 20 April 2025, which covers the past six matches for all teams:
What do you know, maybe not the end of the world just yet!
The last six PL results for Newcastle United with very latest one listed first:
Aston Villa 4 Newcastle 1
Newcastle 5 Palace 0
Newcastle 4 Man U 1
Leicester 0 Newcastle 3
Newcastle 2 Brentford 1
West Ham 0 Newcastle 1
As you can see, Newcastle United stay top(!) in this newly updated Premier League form table.
In the Premier League form table over the last half dozen, NUFC with fifteen points from five wins, no draws and one defeat, with sixteen goals scored and six conceded.
The simple fact is, as the Premier League form table proves, Newcastle and Villa the two most in-form teams as things stand.
Away from home, the toughest of our last six remaining matches and a game where NUFC mistakes were severely punished and two total flukes were deflected past Nick Pope, giving him no chance.
To win those previous five Premier League matches (and a certain game at Wembley I believe…) in some style and scoring loads of goals, is a truer reflection of where Newcastle United are currently at. As the Premier League form table perfectly sums up.
Newcastle United are the MOST in-form team still across their last six Premier League matches.
We now go again.
As you can see, our next match is at home against a team (Ipswich) who have only won one of their last six Premier League matches. Indeed, reality is that Ipswich have won just one of their last 12 and have lost nine of them.
Whilst after that, Newcastle are away at Brighton. They have actually won none of their last five, have picked up only two points from a possible last 15, whilst conceding 13 goals in these most recent five PL matches.
Aston Villa had won nine of their last ten matches in all competitions, now ten of their last eleven. No disgrace to lose to them away from home and we go again next Saturday, Ipswich at home, our only focus another three points to take us close to getting over the line for Champions League qualification.
