‘I love the way they play’ – Jarell Quansah on joining Bayer Leverkusen | OneFootball

Bayer Leverkusen secured the transfer of Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah for a club record fee on Wednesday. The Englishman signed a five-year contract until 2030 with last season’s Bundesliga runners-up. Speaking via the club’s official channels, Quansah was in a joyous mood following his move.

“It’s a massive privilege to be able to represent this club,” said Quansah. “I think it’s always good to be interested with such a big team in Germany and especially the success over the recent years that they’ve been through.

“Seeing that, my eyes have always been watching and I love the way they play.”

Quansah signed for Bayer Leverkusen days after winning the UEFA European U21 Championship with England. “I was eager to come here and make sure everything was boxed off and over the line. I’m just grateful that it’s done.”

Looking at the season ahead, the 22-year-old added: “Hopefully we’re going to have good years together. For this season, we’re going to give it our all. I’m going to try and play the best I can and I’m going to give hard work and a lot of energy. I feel like that’s what I can do. And hopefully play with a fire and intensity that I want to play with, and what the fans will love hopefully.”
