Yesterday’s penalty blunder against AC Milan was not the first time that Inter Milan have had to deal with poor refereeing in 2025.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They argue that it’s been a “horror show” for the Nerazzurri since the new year.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi did not hold back after yesterday’s Serie A match against AC Milan.

The Nerazzurri coach fumed over the fact that his team were not given what appeared to be a fairly blatant second half penalty.

But it was not just that. Inzaghi also hit out at the double standard. He argued that there are “legal broadcasts” when decisions go Inter’s way, by contrast.

And the Nerazzurri coach also complained that it’s the “third or fourth time” something like this has happened.

And in the view of the Corriere, Inzaghi wasn’t wrong.

There have been extremely questionable penalty decisions in virtually all Inter’s Serie A match in 2025.

First, there was the decision not to award a spot kick for what looked to be a foul by Bologna keeper Lukas Skorupski in a Serie A draw.

Then, Inter did not get a penalty for a kick by Empoli defender Arjon Ismajli on Lautaro Martinez.

And there was also what appeared to be a blatant handball by Lecce defender Federico Baschirotto in the box.

As Inzaghi said in his post-match comments, referee errors are a part of the game.

But the way that they have really started to accumulate for Inter has become a problem.
