Morison is a key figure in the Lions' history in the last decade. With 92 goals across two spells at The Den, the now 41-year-old was one of the great strikers Millwall fans had the pleasure of watching.

Across two spells, the Welsh bagsman contributed to the Lions' last two promotions back to the Championship with 14 league goals in 2016/17, and in his first season with the Lions, helped Millwall to a play-off victory in the 2009/10 campaign.

Having some great moments, Morison will always be remembered as a Millwall icon.

Now, the Welshman has turned to coaching, where he has managed three clubs over a three-year period.

Coming through the managerial ranks at Cardiff City U23s, he was appointed Cardiff first-team boss in 2021 following a successful caretaker period.

After his sacking in 2022, the following year, Morison decided to take a five-league drop to manage Hornchurch FC.

Many questioned the drop-down to a much lower level after a stint managing in the Championship, but after starting his career in non-league with Bishop's Stortford and Stevenage, it was no surprise. His non-league days are what paved the path for him to Millwall in the first place.

Morison met at a charity match with Hornchurch chairman, Alex Sharp, who is a Millwall fan himself, and in an interview with Sky Sports, he explained why he took the step down.

"You have to put your ego to one side. I just wanted to work rather than wait for another opportunity to open up. And it's a really good opportunity. There are good people there and it just felt right."

After a successful spell with The Urchins, he moved back to the EFL in January to try and turn around the fortunes of Sutton United, who were involved in a relegation battle.

Unfortunately, the former Millwall striker wasn't able to keep up Sutton, with the Us being relegated on the final day, but he's continued with the club this campaign, in the hopes of a promotion straight back to the EFL.

Coming from non-league, Morison was flourishing with Stevenage in 2009. The Lions saw his talent and paid Stevenage a fee of £130k, which turned out to be one of their best bits of business in recent history.

Now, he's hoping to once again shine in non-league with Sutton. It could certainly pave his path in management if he was to gain a promotion with the U's and could lead him to bigger and better things.

After a slow start to life in the National League, Sutton picked up a vital three points away at Southend. Morison praised his players for their work rate and effort, which reciprocates that of him in his playing days.

His status at The Den is of high pedigree, and his impact on the club over the years is something the Lions faithful will never forget.
