La Liga giants Barcelona could soon exact their revenge on Chelsea, for luring one of the club’s prized young talents away on the cheap.

The subject of developments between Barcelona and Chelsea has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines across the continent over the day to date.

This comes after the latter’s deal for Marc Guiu was made official.

After trumping Barca’s contract offer to the young frontman, the Blues brass swiftly followed up by activating his bargain €6 million release clause.

Safe to say, then, that those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou are likely not overly enamoured with their Stamford Bridge counterparts at present.

Deco and co, though, could yet exact their revenge, by way of a signing of their own…

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Nico Williams as the player in question.

Amid his scintillating spell of form at the European Championships, wide-man Nico is understood to have made his way to the very top of Chelsea’s summer wishlist.

Not only that, but the capital outfit have gone as far as to offer to pay the 21-year-old’s release clause, alongside a massive wage packet for Nico himself.

The response of the attacker, however, has been a staunch one.

As per Sport:

‘The English club is pushing to take the forward and after making a move, through an intermediary, they have found a resounding response: the footballer’s priority is to play for Barcelona.’

The ball is therefore firmly in Barca’s court, as the Blaugrana work towards freeing up the funds to activate Nico’s €60 million release clause.

And what sweet revenge it would be, if they manage to do so, at the expense of big-spending Chelsea…
