Queens Park Rangers boss Marti Cifuentes has stressed that Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze can dribble and break the opposition back line with his final pass, but insists the R’s will make his return to Loftus Road tough for him.
Eze came through the QPR academy set-up before joining Crystal Palace in the summer of 2020.
The attacking midfielder has established himself as a key part of Crystal Palace’s starting line-up and has made 129 appearances for the club.
Eze will return to Loftus Road tonight when Crystal Palace take on QPR in an EFL Cup fixture and Cifuentes added that he is looking forward to making the 26-year-old’s return to his former club tough.
QPR boss Cifuentes believes that Eze is a player with good dribbling skills and stated that the midfielder has the ability to break opposition defence lines with final passes.
“First of all, I think it is going to be nice to have him back at Loftus Road because of all the good things he did for the club”, Cifuentes told QPR TV.
“I think it is a good feeling for all QPR fans to see how his career is progressing and how well he is doing for the national team, for his current club, but at the same time looking forward to making sure that he has a tough time when the kick-off starts.
“We are aware of his quality.
“I don’t know he will start or not, but in any case we know about his capacity to dribble to break the lines to play the last pass and in that sense we need to be aware of these and obviously we will prepare the guys and I am fully confident that we are going to do a good job with him.”
Eze has featured five times for Crystal Palace this season in all competitions with two goals under his belt and will be determined to help Oliver Glasner’s side reach the next round of the EFL Cup.
