Among the Red Devils’ list of loaned-out players this season are the likes of first-teamers Antony, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.

Sancho’s move to Chelsea is all but confirmed to be being made permanent this summer due to the terms of his obligation-to-buy clause being fulfilled, while Aston Villa have the option of signing Rashford on a long-term deal for around £40 million if he continues to impress – and if he’s open to the prospect.

As for Antony, there was no buy clause included in his terms with Real Betis, suggesting club chiefs would be open to him having a second chance at reviving his stagnant United career next season.

Yet, if he’s enjoying his time in Spain and getting considerably more joy than he experienced in England, why would he be in a rush to return to Old Trafford?

The Brazilian international has featured seven times for Betis, notching an impressive three goals and two assists in that time. More recently, he played the full 90 of the side’s shock 2-1 win over giants Real Madrid over the weekend.

Betis now sit sixth-placed in La Liga and are well on course to secure a spot in the European places. They’re also in the last-16 of the Europa Conference League, where Antony will be hoping to further make his mark and potentially aid the club’s silverware quest.

According to Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon, the 25-year-old has made him aware that he’s more than happy to stay in Seville beyond the summer.

“Antony was surprised by the facilities we gave him to settle in the city as soon as he arrived,” Alarcon told El Pelotazo.

“The player is very happy, and the other day, he told me that he wanted to stay another year.”
