Harry Redknapp has been talking about Newcastle United.

The former Spurs boss discussing Eddie Howe and his team ahead of this weekend.

Newcastle United hosting at St James’ Park.

A 3pm kick-off on Saturday afternoon.

United set to face Leicester City.

Harry Redknapp talking to BetVictor ahead of Newcastle United playing at home to Leicester:

“Talk about a big game for Newcastle and Eddie Howe.

“It seems like they’ve lost a bit of momentum and they really need a win here.

“Howe’s done such a terrific job here, but as we all know, there’s not much loyalty in the game these days.

“It’s been a great start for Ruud van Nistelrooy, what a point that was against Brighton.

“The main man Jamie Vardy was right at the heart of it, he shows no sign of slowing down!

“Surely Newcastle get the win here, 2-1.

“One to watch –

“Leicester’s defence isn’t the strongest, and Newcastle are likely to create chances.

“If any fall to Alexander Isak, I’d back him to capitalise.”

Can’t disagree with most of what Harry Redknapp has had to say.

Only Wolves (20 goals) have conceded more away from home than the 18 Leicester have leaked on their travels, plus the Foxes have played one less match away than Wolves.

Only once have Leicester conceded less than two goals away, with their two away games seeing a 3-0 defeat at Man U and a 4-1 loss at Brentford.

At home, only four teams have conceded less than the eight Newcastle have done in their seven matches, whilst of course before that Liverpool 3-3, it was only five conceded in the first NUFC six Premier League games at St James’ Park.

The problem of course at home this season, is that both of those stats apply to goals scored at SJP as well for Newcastle, only five in the opening six PL games at home, now eight from seven after that Liverpool game. That still means just three (of the bottom four) have scored less at home than Eddie Howe’s side.

Taken everything together, I think a major disappointment if Eddie Howe’s side don’t score at least two AND concede one at the most.

I would of course take any Newcastle win on Saturday BUT I would like to think it will be a bit more comfortable than the 2-1 that Harry Redknapp predicts.
