Hansi Flick’s great gesture to honour Barcelona staff’s contribution after US tour | OneFootball

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is known for his meticulous attention to detail and dedication to his coaching role, often going above and beyond the hours required.

Above all, he is a strong advocate for teamwork as the most effective path to achieving ambitious goals.

A prime example of this occurred after the team’s return from their US tour. On August 8, the squad headed straight to the Ciutat Esportiva, reports Mundo Deportivo.

Flick asks players to applaud the coaching staff

Before the Barcelona players returned home to rest after their North American journey, Flick gathered everyone in the gym. He divided the group into two: one comprised of the players and the other of his support staff.

Flick then addressed the players, saying, “I want an applause for the staff because, thanks to them, the tour was a success, and you are who you are because of their efforts.”

Following his speech, the players applauded the staff, who received the recognition with heartfelt gratitude. This atmosphere of unity and camaraderie marked the end of their day.

Flick’s relationship with his staff

Flick has earned the respect of his coaching staff members through his professional yet courteous demeanour. He does not complain about arising issues, actively seeks input from his team, and places full trust in them.

A clear example of this is Julio Tous, the strength and conditioning coach, who stated he has never had as much freedom to implement his methods as he does under Flick.

This was not the only gesture from Flick towards his support team. Last week, he invited them to share a meal at Can Ferran, picking up the tab himself. During the gathering, he praised their hard work.

In a recent training session, he once again gathered players and staff to emphasize the importance of working “together as a team” as they prepared for a challenging stretch of matches against Girona, AS Monaco, and Villarreal.

Just a few days ago, Flick was named LaLiga’s Best Coach for August. After receiving the award, he made sure to include his technical staff members in the celebration, taking a photo with them which the club later shared on social media – another testament to his commitment to highlighting the efforts of his team.
