Hansi Flick is a man on a mission. The German boss has arrived at FC Barcelona with a desire to turn the situation around and take the club back to its glory days. He just gave the players and fans one of the best weeks they have had in recent times.

After an impressive dismantling of Real Madrid away from home, no one would have faulted Hansi Flick for taking a day or two off. In fact, after a recovery session, the German coach had decided to give his squad a couple of days off.

However, Hansi Flick did not rest. Just a day after El Clasico, as per Mundo Deportivo, he was spotted at the Johan Cruyff Arena watching Barca Atlètic take on Barakaldo in the Primera RFEF as he continues to monitor young talent for the first team.

The game ended in a 2-2 draw, with Guille Fernandez and Ivan Cedric scoring for the quarry team. Flick was surely taking notes on the players’ performances; for instance, Guille has already been on the fringes of the first team, having made several squad lists.

In his relatively short tenure as Barcelona’s manager, Hansi Flick has shown immense faith in La Masia. He has relied on many young talents from the academy, including players like Marc Casadó, to address the pivot position dilemma.

The youngsters would also have been motivated by the presence of the first-team boss, knowing that a good display on the night could help them at least get a call to train with the first-teamers. It is an incredible opportunity.

It remains to be seen how Hansi Flick goes about his business going forward. With more injured players set to return, the Barcelona first-team squad is bound to get stronger. However, the Copa del Rey will come around sometime.

The cup should give the German coach an opportunity to try out a few youngsters who have impressed him. La Masia gems has never disappointed when given an opportunity and let’s wait and see how the situation pans out.
