In his first season at FC Barcelona, Hansi Flick handed first-team debuts to a number of young talents from the club’s youth ranks.
One such player happened to be teenage winger Dani Rodriguez, who made his official first-team debut for Barça against Real Valladolid.
However, the night ended on a very disappointing note for the 19-year-old attacker as he suffered a serious shoulder injury in the first half, leading to surgery that ruled him out for the season.
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is keeping a close eye on Dani Rodriguez as he continues his recovery from the shoulder injury.
Despite other academy players pushing through strongly, the German tactician sees great potential and determination in the young forward who did not travel to Asia for the pre-season tour.

Other youngsters like Jofre Torrents, Pedro Fernandez ‘Dro’, and Toni Fernandez impressed Flick on the tour, but he has not forgotten about Rodriguez.
The Barça head coach is still considering the La Masia forward as part of his plans for the 2025/26 season and will evaluate the best course of action for him alongside sporting director Deco.
The Basque winger was present at the Ciutat Esportiva when the squad returned to training last month. Flick made it clear he is counting on him, as shown by the fact that he was called up for the start of training despite not yet being match-ready.
After surgery in May, the estimated recovery period for Dani was three to four months, and he is still undergoing rehabilitation. He is currently working individually with Barça Atletic and has not yet rejoined full team training.
