Hansi Flick explains why Barcelona are ‘being very careful’ with Marcus Rashford | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has admitted that he and his coaching staff are currently being ‘very careful’ when it comes to their usage of summer signing Marcus Rashford.

Frontman Rashford is for his part fresh off taking to the pitch in Barcelona colours for the very first time.

The Blaugrana kicked their pre-season fixture list into gear on Sunday morning, ultimately emerging on the right side of a 3-1 result against Japanese outfit Vissel Kobe.

Recent arrival Rashford, meanwhile, was introduced to proceedings off the bench for the 2nd-half.

The Englishman went on to enjoy a solid debut outing, playing a key part in Barca’s 2nd goal of the day.

And yet, if the latest comments on the part of his manager are anything to go by, then Rashford appears to remain some way off full fitness.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his side’s victory in Kobe, Hansi Flick admitted:

“We’re being very careful with Marcus because he just came from an injury and he hasn’t started training completely with the ball.”
