Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Tuesday confirmed that a versatile member of the club’s midfield ranks has been ruled out of tomorrow’s meeting with Bayern Munich.

The player in question? Eric García.

Barcelona were of course back in action on Sunday night, when the Catalans welcomed Sevilla to Catalunya’s capital, for a La Liga clash.

Eric, for his part, was included in the initial XI named by boss Hansi Flick for the matchup, due to start at the base of midfield.

Whilst warming up, however, the former Manchester City man pulled up with an issue in his right adductor, forcing him out of Barca’s line-up, and to the bench.

And the issue at hand has since proven significant enough to rule Eric out of the Blaugrana’s next fixture, too.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of Barcelona’s return to continental action against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night, Hansi Flick was asked for the latest on the wellbeing of the Spaniard.

And the German tactician went on to explain:

“Our plan was for him to play on Sunday against Sevilla but he didn’t feel right. Except for Eric, everyone is ready.”
