Guardiola praise for Trafford’s ‘huge personality’ | OneFootball

Pep Guardiola says James Trafford will not allow the 2-0 home loss to Sours to affect his confidence.

The young England goalkeeper didn’t perhaps enjoy the home debut he’d hoped last weekend, but made a bright start the week before in the 4-0 win away to Wolves.

The boss says Trafford is a resolute character and that the caring nature of the squad and coaching staff is always present if and when needed.

“Always we have the arms around their shoulders - the way we take care of them,” said Guardiola.

“It is impossible to be better.

“What happened does not belong just to James. To James what happened with the second goal [against Spurs], he's a strong man and huge personality.

“Of course he was concerned, and I wouldn’t want it any other way,  but we are here to help in those moments.”

Asked if he wanted a settled and consistent goalkeeping department, the boss added: “Not just the goalkeepers, but all our players.

“We have a big squad and many new signings, and we have people who will leave and in that way have to accept it.”
