Gloukh’s father admits: “Roma had offered more than Ajax.” | OneFootball

Maxim, the father of striker Oscar Gloukh, gave an interview to Israeli television station “Five on Air,” revealing a behind-the-scenes look at the negotiations that led to his son’s move to Ajax.

Gloukh had been a target of Roma in recent weeks but ultimately chose to go to Amsterdam.

“The plan is to reach one of the top five leagues via the Dutch league first. Oscar needs to take his time because he’s still young. He’s 21 and can play two or three years in the Eredivisie before making the big leap.”

“Ajax was already in contact with us when he played for Maccabi, and we talked for a year. His dream was to go there, and now it’s come true; it’s the best choice for him.”

“Roma’s offer was 2.5 times higher than Ajax’s, as were the offers from other clubs. But we thought about the professional aspect.”
