Giovanni Reyna opts to join Borussia Mönchengladbach | OneFootball

Sport Bild and a host of other German footballing media outlets currently report that USMNT international Giovanni Reyna has opted to join Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Borussia Dortmund professional opted for another Bundesliga club despite parallel interest from the Serie A. All that remains is for Reyna to finalize the details of his Gladbach contract and pass a medical.

Gladbach have arranged to acquire Reyna from BVB for a transfer fee totaling €7m including bonuses. The 22-year-old’s chances of breaking into BMG head coach Gerardo Seoane’s XI immediately remain slim as the foals are well stacked in attack outside the center-forward position. Reyna still appears ready to take his chances.

Reyna – once considered a €42m-valued talent – currently maintains an estimated market value of just €7m. Some reports that Dortmund have nevertheless managed to maintain some belief in the youngster, securing a 15 percent re-sale clause as part of the deal. Reyna does have 32 USMNT caps to his credit.
