The details of a post-match exchange between Barcelona star Ferran Torres and Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili have on Tuesday come to the fore online.

Ferran and Mamardashvili of course locked horns over the weekend, in a La Liga clash.

And it was the former who had the last laugh.

This came as Barcelona ran riot, to the tune of an eventual 7-1 drubbing of Valencia in Catalunya’s capital.

Following the full-time whistle in the fixture, the two players then came together for a friendly discussion on the pitch, picked up on by the DAZN camera team in attendance.

And one particular moment during this exchange has since turned heads amongst followers of not only Spanish football, but English, too.

This comes after Ferran, who maintains close ties to his home city of Valencia, asked Mamardashvili why he did not make the move to Premier League heavyweights Liverpool last summer.

Shot-stopper Mamardashvili has penned terms with Arne Slot’s Liverpool, but stayed put at Mestalla for the duration of the 2024/25 campaign.

And the Georgian, as per Marca, could not have been more to the point with his one-word response of:

‘Alisson’
