The beginning of April marks the second international break in the Women’s football calendar, with nations from across the globe set to face-off in UEFA Nations League and friendly action.
And eight members of the Celtic squad will be jetting off to join up with their respective squads ahead of a busy week on the international stage.
Having been named in the senior Scotland National Team for the first time last month, Emma Lawton has once again taken her place in the squad under interim boss, Michael McArdle.
Making her debut and also scoring her first ever goal for her country last time out at Hampden Park, the defender will be aiming to continue that momentum, with back-to-back fixtures against Germany.
At senior level, there was also a recall for Saoirse Noonan, who was named in new Republic of Ireland boss, Carla Ward’s, second international squad.
With the forward’s last cap coming in 2023, she will be looking to add to that when Ireland take on Greece in back-to-back fixtures.
At Under-23 level, Shannon McGregor, Maria McAneny and Morgan Cross have all been named in the Scotland squad heading for Spain.
They will be going up against a familiar face in Pinatar as the Scottish youth side take on Denmark U23s, with Mathilde Carstens being named in the Danish squad.
The four Celts will face-off this Thursday, with the winner and loser of the match playing either France or Portugal three days later.
There are also representatives at Under-19 level, with Lisa Rodgers and Amy Richardson both eyeing a place at next summer’s European Championships tournament.
Rodgers joins up with the Scotland squad to face Czechia, Spain and Switzerland in the mini tournament which will be hosted in Scotland, and she is also joined in the squad by Academy youngster and loanee, Lucy Barclay.
And Richardson, who is currently on loan at Partick Thistle, will be part of the Welsh squad that takes on France, Republic of Ireland and Serbia in Wales.
Best of luck to all the Celts on international duty over the coming week!
