FLW’s Sheffield United fan pundit has given his thoughts over the future of Blades boss Ruben Selles.

Sheffield United have had a dismal start to the new Championship season under Ruben Selles.
The Blades’ 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough ensured it was four defeats from their opening four Championship matches, leaving the Yorkshire outfit slumped at the foot of the table and the only side yet to pick up a point in the second-tier.
Selles was also subject to discontent from the Sheffield United faithful after the result at the Riverside Stadium, leaving question marks surrounding his long-term future.
It’s an unprecedented beginning for a club who were so close to Premier League football last season, and despite well-documented financial issues, were expected to be positioned at the top end of the table this term after keeping hold of some key first-team assets.
But Selles’ methods are clearly not having an immediate impact, and there already appears to be a fragmented relationship between him and the supporters, which will be difficult to repair if results continue to go away from them.
The Spaniard has insisted that he is not worried over his future in Yorkshire so early into his tenure, but he will know a turnaround will be needed very quickly to salvage their season after a majorly disappointing start.
With this in mind, FLW’s Sheffield United fan pundit has weighed in with his thoughts over what decision the Blades should take with Selles future.
Speaking to Football League World, Sheffield United fan pundit Jimmy (AKA Blades Ramble) has urged the Blades to sack Ruben Selles over the international break, with the Spaniard deemed to be “in over his head” after a poor opening five games in all competitions.
Jimmy said: “Yes, the fans are calling for his head after just five games, and I'm one of them.
“It may appear harsh. From the outside, looking in, I can understand people's view on that, but if you're watching us every game, you see that it is absolute dross.
“There is nothing salvageable from this way of playing, if that's what you can call it, because there doesn't appear to be a plan.
"We are so far second best, we have been second best in every single game this season. We've played Bristol City, we played Millwall, we've played Swansea, Boro top of the league, I didn't think they were great to be honest, but they were much better than us. Birmingham, we had a heavily rotated side because it was a cup game, but we've been second best in every single game this season and a distant second I would say as well.
“A late 15-minute rally against Millwall, the last 30 minutes of the first half against Bristol City on the first game of the season, but we should be much worse off in terms of goal difference than we are because Tanganga saved us against Middlesbrough. There's been all sorts of caveats, but it is so bad, so bad, and it's just been too much of a drastic change too soon.
“The board have tried to go for complete revolution rather than evolution, and I understand it, it's just not worked.
“Let's get him gone. I don't think there's any way back for him, it's just not fit, it's not clicked, and I think he's in over his head to be honest, so yeah, changes are needed at Bramall Lane.”
The consensus from the Sheffield United supporters is clear on Ruben Selles, and it will take a hell of an effort to regain their trust after some really poor opening defeats.
Despite still possessing some quality players in the squad, his methods are not suiting them, and if something doesn’t change, then he will be departing sooner rather than later.
If he does manage to see out the international break as boss, then their next fixture at Ipswich Town must see significant improvement, particularly when he now has a full two weeks with some of the playing squad to prepare them for the test at Portman Road.
It’s currently a grim situation over in the Steel City, and it looks unlikely that Selles will be able to lift the dark cloud that is currently hanging over the club.
