IT COMES DOWN TO PENALTIES

Hang on to your hats as France and Germany will now throw themselves into the fray from 12 yards out.

OFF THE BAR!!!

A VERY late winner for France is denied by the woodwork after Melvine Malard had a pop from outside the box. So close!

Spying eyes may have found the penalty pathway for Germany, who have now made two further changes as a shoot-out looms.

Sara Däbritz and Linda Dallmann are on, replacing Elisa Senss and Jule Brand

Germany were also forced into a change, with Franziska Kett coming off for Selina Cerci

One final roll of the dice from Laurent Bonadei, with his final two changes being made

Twelve minutes remain before another dreaded penalty shoot-out.

Will France find a deserved moment or will Berger and company continue to frustrate?

WHAT A SAVE!!!

Berger makes her eighth save of the night to deny France their second via what would have been an own goal as she lunges back full stretch to avoid being unintentionally chipped.

Sensational moment from the Gotham FC shot-stopper

Franziska Kett goes into the book after persistently fouling Baltimore

Germany make a change:

Giovanna Hoffmann comes off, replaced by Lea Schüller, who shockingly was not in the XI tonight

Who will come out on top after extra time (and perhaps penalties) when it's all said and done?

France remain the favourite on balance, but one can never count Germany out at major tournaments.

END OF NORMAL TIME

France and Germany are headed to extra time in Basel as Germany hang on to their chance of picking off a shock result.

Les Blues have unquestionably been the better side on the night, but a determined Frauen refuse to surrender.

She's back up and fine to continue, with the fourth official signaling for eight minutes of added time

Trouble for Germany as Berger is down on the turf receiving treatment

France make their fourth change of the night

Into the final ten minutes of action in Basel.

Are we on our way to bonus football tonight?

Further changes from France:

SAVE!!!

They can't!!

Nüsken is denied her brace from the spot by a top-class save by Pauline Peyraud-Magnin!!!

PENALTY FOR GERMANY!!

Selma Bacha was judged to have brought down Jule Brand in the box - can Frauen take a shock lead?!

Change from France:

Kadidiatou Diani is replaced by Sandy Baltimore

FRANCE DENIED!

France have been denied a second goal in the 57th minute through a rebound effort from Geyoro after Ann-Katrin Berger did so well to initially keep Les Bleus out from close range.

Maëlle Lakrar was judged to have interfered during the passage of play just before Geyoro's finish.

Jule Brand goes into the book for Germany, joining Wück, who earlier received a yellow in the aftermath of Frauen going down a player.

We're back underway at St. Jakob-Park for what will hopefully be another enthralling 45 minutes of action.

HALF-TIME

Fascinating twists and turns of events in Basel see France and Germany locked at one-all as we reach the half-time interval.

Despite being down a player after Hendrich's sending off, Frauen have done well to claw back into proceedings, with so much left to play for after the break.

DENIED FOR OFFSIDE!!

France thought they had retaken the lead after a back-heel goal from close range from Delphine Cascarino, but she was ruled to be just ahead of the line.

Will there be a second goal for either side before the half-time interval?!

GOAL!!!

Germany have struck back to level the score at one-all thanks to a headed goal from Sjoeke Nüsken at the near post off a whipped-in corner to the near post by Klara Bühl.

Back in business!

Linder has been subbed off after being unable to recover from her earlier knock. She's been replaced by Sophia Kleinherne as the night goes from bad to worse for Frauen.

GOAL!!

France take the lead before the 15th minute thanks to a converted effort from the spot by PSG's Grace Geyoro.

Germany now have it all to do tonight.

RED CARD AND PENALTY!

Germany's Kathrin-Julia Hendrich is sent off after committing a foul in the box after pulling the hair of France captain Griedge Mbock, which was confirmed by VAR review.

She's now back on.

Sarai Linder has yet to return to action for Germany after going down injured in the opening minutes of action.

Christian Wück will be hoping to avoid an early forced change.

No French side, men's or women's, has ever beaten Germany at a major tournament. Can Les Bleus change their fortunes tonight against the record EURO winner?

Player walk-outs, national anthems, and then we are off to the races in Basel!

Just minutes away!

Both outfits look cool, calm, and collected during the build-up to their clash with St. Jakob-Park, which kicks off in less than an hour.

The teamsheets are in for tonight's huge quarter-final clash. Here is how France and Germany will look on the pitch.
