German gem in the Barcelona quarry finally finds some consistency | OneFootball

From top to bottom, every single team within FC Barcelona is drilled from the very beginning to compete for everything. This special emphasis on developing young players is exactly what has allowed the Catalan club to thrive even in times of financial despair. Ultimately, it is the commitment of Barcelona to their youth that has eventually paid off for them.

Many of the first teams defined starters and guarantees under Hansi Flick have been youngsters, and the German tactician’s reliance on La Masia remains on display for everyone to see. However, there are still some players within the club’s quarry that are yet to unlock their own full potential.

One such player for the longest time has been Noah Darvich, the German sensation that Barcelona acquired from Freiburg and who now represents the B team led by Albert Sanchez. Fortunately for the 18-year-old attacking midfielder, however, he is finally finding some level of consistency in a rather unexpected role.

As pointed out by SPORT, Darvich just recently had his fifth consecutive start this season in Barcelona Atletic in the latest encounter against Lugo. This level of consistency has been something alien to him since arriving at Barça, but it would appear that he has finally managed to overcome that initial hurdle.

Moreover, he is featuring in matches not as an attacking midfielder but rather as an inverted right-winger. A completely new role for him, but one that is clearly working out better for him than the role of a central midfielder, which was something that he was clearly struggling to adjust to.

Due to there being no natural attacking midfield role within the Barcelona B team, Darvich initially had to adapt to the central midfield role that demanded quicker execution of passes and a lot more defensive workload than he was used to within the German National team, where he was considered a star prodigy. Eventually, however, other players began to overshadow him in those roles.

Now, however, it seems that Toni Fernandez’s unfortunate ankle injury has created a big opening for him. With two assists to his name so far this season, the German youngster is definitely seeing an improvement in terms of his final input and his dribbling abilities continue to be a great asset for Sanchez’s team.

Simultaneously, Hansi Flick continues to reportedly keep an eye on him as well. For the German coach, he is indeed a special talent and a player who can be a valuable asset in the future if he is able to unlock his best version again, one that is most commonly found in him when he plays for Germany.
