AC Milan are expected to part ways with Sergio Conceicao in the summer and as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, they intend to start the new era with a proven Italian coach.

The pink newspaper (see photo below) has taken stock of the Rossoneri’s head coach pursuit, with there being a lot of talk about the sporting director role recently. The idea is clear: start the new era with an experienced Italian coach who has achieved success before.

In other words, we are talking about an ‘expert coach’ and not a beginner, or a bold choice for that matter. Milan believe that several coaches fit the bill, namely Antonio Conte, Max Allegri, Gian Piero Gasperini, Maurizio Sarri, and Roberto Mancini, but the list is immediately narrowed down.

Conte is difficult to get given the contract with Napoli. Allegri and Mancini, meanwhile, have the right characteristics but are behind Gasperini and Sarri on Milan’s list. To make the list even shorter, it’s enough to look at the fact that the former is under contract with Atalanta, while the latter is free.

Sarri has won the Scudetto with Juventus, as well as the Europa League with Chelsea, and he wants to relaunch his career just like Milan. The choice depends a little bit on the sporting director appointment, but as the newspaper concludes, the Rossoneri could keep the organisational chart as it is (and then they would be free to choose straight away).

At the start of the month, we reported that Sarri is one of the top targets for Milan for the head coach role.
