Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Osasuna proved crucial in their pursuit of distancing themselves from Real Madrid at the top of La Liga.
With Hansi Flick making tactical adjustments to his starting XI, the inclusion of Eric Garcia and Gavi paid dividends as both players delivered solid performances in a hard-fought encounter.
Their presence on the field not only reinforced Barcelona’s defensive solidity but also contributed to their overall cohesion and determination.

The defender recognised the pitfalls of complacency, pointing to past experiences where Barcelona’s significant lead over Real Madrid had gradually evaporated.
“We have to keep going. We have the experience from the past when we were ahead of Madrid by a lot of points, and the gap narrowed until we lost the lead.
We have to keep going like this. The team is doing well, and we need a little time to rest. The most important thing today was to get the three points and consolidate our lead,” he said.
Gavi, meanwhile, continued to prove why he remains a vital component of Flick’s setup. The young midfielder emphasised the significance of consistency, especially with the season entering a crucial phase.
“La Liga is very long; one day you’re up, and the next you’re down. There are a lot of games, and in the end, the important thing is to be consistent.
“We’ve been doing that since we came back from Christmas, and we have to keep it up,” the midfielder analysed.

What particularly stood out from Gavi’s comments was his emphasis on the value of keeping clean sheets. The midfielder has often stressed that defensive discipline forms the backbone of Barcelona’s success.
Rather than relying solely on their attacking prowess, Barcelona have demonstrated a newfound solidity at the back, something that has been instrumental in their pursuit of titles this season.
“We’re very happy with the team’s performance today. It was a difficult match, and the truth is that the whole team played a great game, and we have to continue like this.
“We have to work as a team and always stay together. I always say that. If we don’t concede a goal, we’ll score at the end, so a clean sheet is very important,” he explained.
Ultimately, the win against Osasuna was about much more than just three points. It was a statement of intent—a reminder that Barcelona are prepared to fight for every inch of ground in their quest for the La Liga title.
