New Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso notes that Serie A clubs deployed 68% foreign players in the 2025-25 campaign: ‘We need to give young players a chance.’

The former midfielder touched on several issues, including a limited number of players available for the national team.

“This year, Serie A has had 68% foreign players; this number should make us think,” Gattuso said via TMW.

“We need to give young players a chance. Missing two editions of the World Cup in a row isn’t easy to swallow. That’s why we must rediscover enthusiasm; fear leads nowhere.”
