The Gunners will now turn their attention to rewarding Bukayo Saka and William Saliba for their form after confirming the Brazilian’s future
Gabriel had two years left on his previous deal, but he has now agreed fresh terms until 2029.
The Brazilian was one of Arsenal’s best players last season and tying him down is a major boost for the Gunners ahead of a big summer.
In a reward for his fine form, Gabriel has earned a pay rise on his previous wages, believed to be north of £100,000-a-week.
The 27-year-old has also been due a pay rise as he last signed a contract in 2022, before a string of other senior players did.
The renewal is a boost for Arsenal’s new sporting director, Andrea Berta, who has been in place since the end of March.

Arsenal want to tie down several star players this summer - including Bukayo Saka and William Saliba. The club are also working on agreeing new contracts for academy graduates Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Tying down Gabriel is a strong start to the summer for Arsenal, who are planning to bolster their squad with new arrivals, too.
The 27-year-old has previously been on the radar of clubs in Saudi Arabia - but he has committed his future to Arsenal.
Gabriel joined Arsenal in the summer of 2020 from Lille for around £20million, and he has proved to be a big hit.

The Brazilian has formed a formidable partnership alongside fellow centre-back Saliba, with Arteta viewing the pair as a key part of his plans going forward.
“Obviously we believed they could become really good,” Arteta said last year. “That togetherness and chemistry is unique, it’s something that they built.
“It happened very organically as well. I’m very proud to have them and the level they are showing is incredible.”
Gabriel missed the end of last season due to a hamstring injury he picked up in April. The Brazilian underwent surgery and hopes to be ready for the start of the new campaign.
