There are reports that Roma reacted angrily to Nicola Zalewski turning down a move to Galatasaray, so have frozen him out of the squad.
The Giallorossi had negotiated a healthy transfer fee for the wing-back worth a rumoured €11m plus €4m in bonuses and a cut of the future sale.
That would’ve been pure profit for the club coffers, seeing as Zalewski was a product of their youth academy who made it all the way to the senior squad.
However, when it came down to the crunch, the Poland international turned down the move to Turkey by making some unrealistic demands on a release clause and preferred to remain at the Stadio Olimpico.
This is a big problem because his contract with Roma only runs to June 2025, so they now risk losing him as a free agent in the summer.
With that in mind, Sky Sport Italia report that Zalewski is being frozen out of the squad for the foreseeable future.
The 22-year-old is one of the lowest-paid players in the group, said to be on just €350,000 per season.
