Preston North End manager Paul Heckingbottom insisted that Fulham have a squad that can handle competing in the Premier League and the EFL Cup at the same time.
Marco Silva has stabilised the Cottagers and established the London club as a comfortable mid-table top-flight side.
They finished 13th and tenth in the last two seasons respectively and are expected to have a comfortable stay this season.
The Lilywhites boss believes that the Craven Cottage outfit are at a level where they can try and win a cup.
Heckingbottom also reiterated that even if they try to get deep in cup competitions they do not need to worry about their status in the Premier League.
“Everyone prioritises the Premier League and I’m sure Marco and Fulham are no different, but they’re at the level now where they’ll be wanting to get to the latter stages and try and win one”, Heckingbottom told his club’s media about Fulham.
“They’re certainly well established enough and have got the squad depth now to have a cup run and still perform well in the Premier League.”
The Lilywhites have made a difficult start to their league campaign and will face a stern opponent Fulham in the EFL Cup tonight at Deepdale.
