Both teams looking to record a first win of the league campaign

Fulham’s first home game of the new Premier League season sees them face Manchester United.

Neither side were victorious in their respective fixtures across the opening weekend of the 2025-26 campaign, but there should be cause for optimism in both camps.

The Cottagers earned a point against Brighton thanks to a 97th minute equaliser from Rodrigo Muniz, while Man Utd were unlucky in defeat at home to Arsenal.

When the two sides met in the league last season, it was the Red Devils who triumphed on both occasions, but only by the slenderest of margins.

Although, Marco Silva and company did have the last laugh by beating Man United on penalties in the FA Cup fifth round and will be looking to inflict more misery on Ruben Amorim’s side.

Fulham vs Manchester United team news

Fulham will once again be without influential left-back Antonee Robinson. The 27-year-old did not play a single minute of pre-season after undergoing knee surgery in May and the Man Utd game is too soon for a return.

Ryan Sessegnon is doubtful after missing the Brighton draw, but Muniz is pushing to lead the line ahead of Raul Jimenez following his goalscoring impact at the Amex Stadium.

Emile Smith Rowe will also be hoping for a start after playing the final 20 minutes against the Seagulls.

Man United could hand a full debut to big-money summer signing Benjamin Sesko at Craven Cottage after the striker came off the bench against Arsenal.

However, Amorim could be tempted to stick with the same front three that started at Old Trafford given how dangerous Mason Mount, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha were.

Another decision for the United manager to make is in goal as Andre Onana could be in line for a recall following Altay Bayindir’s mistake for the Arsenal winner. Noussair Mazraoui is a doubt, while Lisandro Martinez is ruled out.

Fulham vs Manchester United prediction

Man United were impressive against Arsenal and will score plenty more goals this season once their attack clicks. However, there were still some issues in midfield that went unpunished.

In all three meetings last season, there’s a strong argument that Fulham were the better side and just lacked a cutting edge in attack to confirm their dominance.

This will be a test to see how much Man United have improved over the summer and whether the Arsenal performance was simply just a case off raising their game against a bigger side.

Manchester United to win, 2-1.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Man United won both Premier League meetings against Fulham last season, including a 1-0 win in the corresponding fixture thanks to a late goal from Lisandro Martinez.

The Cottagers have not fared well against the Red Devils in recent years. In fact, their last home win in this fixture was in December 2009.
