Fulham twice came from behind to earn a point against Ipswich in a 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage, a game which saw three second-half penalties.
Scorers: Jiménez (pen) 69', (pen) 90+1'; Szmodics 38', Delap (pen) 72'
The first real opening in the first 10 minutes came from the visitors. Leif Davis whipped a brilliant ball in from the left that Sammy Szmodics was inches away from getting a touch on.
Fulham dictated the early play, with Ipswich sitting deep and looking to hit on the counter. The Cottagers' first chance came via Raúl Jiménez, whose header was well stopped by Christian Walton.
Antonee Robinson, fresh off being named US Men's Player of the Year, almost added to his defender-high seven assists just after the half hour, but Ipswich's defensive numbers proved too much.
Ipswich took the lead out of nowhere in the 38th minute through Szmodics. Ben Johnson crashed a header onto the bar from Nathan Broadhead's cross, and Calvin Bassey made a mess of the clearance, allowing the Irish international to finish.
Into the second half, Fulham looked for an equaliser, with substitute Emile Smith Rowe missing a gilt-edged chance, heading wide at the back post. Moments later, Bernd Leno did very well to prevent Szmodics getting his, and Ipswich's, second.
Fulham did level in the 66th minute from the spot, after Sam Morsy tripped Harry Wilson just inside the box. Jiménez made no mistake, sending Walton the wrong way with a very cool penalty.
21 seconds later, amazingly Ipswich had a penalty of their own, Liam Delap being taken down by Timothy Castagne. The striker dusted himself down and hammered the ball past Leno.
Jack Clarke almost sealed the points for them with a minute left of regular time, smacking the post after a mazy run.
Incredibly, they paid for that near-miss moments later, giving away another penalty. Davis took down Jiménez, and the Mexican tucked away again in brilliant fashion to grab a point.
