Newcastle United are now reported to be CONFIDENT that they can keep Anthony Gordon at the club through this summer's transfer window.
That’s according to a new report in Football Insider, which claims the Magpies have eased their financial concerns by selling two players before the June 30 profit and sustainability rules deadline.
Yankuba Minteh, a favourite of Arne Slot while on loan at Feyenoord last season, moved to Brighton at the weekend while homegrown prospect Elliott Anderson went to Nottingham Forest.

Those sales brought in nearly £70 million to the club’s coffers, meaning a big-money sale for one of the big Newcastle stars was ultimately avoided.
Chelsea have enquired about forward Alexander Isak while Bruno Guimaraes is reported to be on the shopping list of clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal and Real Madrid.
Nonetheless it was the reports linking Gordon with Liverpool late last week which proved to be the most intriguing.
Gordon, 23, was reportedly offered to the Reds in an attempt to ease Newcastle’s financial concerns but the deal broke down over the fee as well as the north east club’s desire to include Jarell Quansah in the move.
Liverpool’s transfer chiefs walked away from the deal, denying Gordon a dream return to his boyhood club.
Club bosses then suspected that the England man had had his head turned by the prospect of moving to Merseyside and back to the club he left aged 11.

However, it’s now reported that Newcastle’s money woes are at an end for now and Gordon is expected to stay.
The report adds that the Newcastle manager Eddie Howe now intends to build his team around Gordon, Isak and Guimaraes going forward and he will ALSO have money to spend later in the window.
Newcastle have only got Gordon contracted until 2026, having signed him from Everton on a three-and-a-half-year contract in the winter of 2023.
Gordon cost £45m, a deal which looks good value in hindsight, and scored 11 goals, adding 10 assists in 35 Premier League games last season.
It remains to be seen what Liverpool end up doing in terms of offensive reinforcements with Luis Diaz’s future uncertain and Cody Gakpo demonstrating great form for The Netherlands at Euro 2024.
Napoli superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has also been linked but comes with a massive price tag.
