Barcelona are making massive movements on the transfer market and it is clear that Joan Laporta and Co. will not rest until Hansi Flick’s side is sufficiently bolstered.
The coming season, after all, is a massive one for the Blaugrana as they will play to defend three domestic titles and make a strong push for the UEFA Champions League after last season’s heartbreak.
One other reason for the Catalan faithful to look forward to the new season is the team’s imminent return to the Spotify Camp Nou – an event that was supposed to materialise last year but has been postponed to the beginning of next season.
Work at the Spotify Camp Nou has been progressing well in recent weeks and Barcelona are expected to return to their fortress early next season. Before that, however, the management hopes to organise the Joan Gamper trophy at the renovated stadium.
As relayed by Catalunya Radio in a recent report, there are four major ‘steps’ that lie between Barcelona and an official reopening of the stadium.
For starters, the Catalans must obtain the required construction and operating permits to reopen the stadium and welcome fans back in.

Following that is the second step which is securing the first occupancy permit for a phase-wise reopening.
The third step Joan Laporta and Co. must coast past is installing an evacuation corridor in the ‘Maternitat’ area for the safety guarantee, following which they must apply and obtain police approval.
The Joan Gamper trophy will be the first game played at the venue this year, albeit with a reduced capacity.
The ‘test run’ will see 20,000 fans welcomed to assess the transportation ease and entry-exit dynamics. The capacity reopened for the event will stand at around 35,000.
The complete return to the stadium, meanwhile, will be in mid-September with a limited capacity of around 65,000. Needless to say, having the privilege of playing at the fortress will be a huge positive boost for the Blaugrana.
