It’s amazing how quickly the mood can change in football. Not long ago things were incredibly toxic at Stamford Bridge after bad results against Brentford and Ipswich looked to have cost us a top 5 place. But 2 wins in a row plus a comfortable victory in the Conference League suddenly have Chelsea believing again.
Enzo Maresca has said the mood is “good” as his team prepare to do all they can to win out and sneak into the top 5 at the death.
The Blues face some incredibly tough fixtures though, starting with Liverpool tomorrow. One person who isn’t feeling as confident about our chances is Harry Redknapp, who gave his thoughts on the match online:
“The big game of the weekend, especially for Chelsea. They’ve picked up some vital wins in the last few weeks, even if the performances haven’t been great. They’ve got some massive games coming up though – the pressure is really on them,” former Premier League manager Redknapp said.
“This is a complete free hit for Liverpool, but I think they’ll want to remind everyone just why they’re Premier League champions. I know Arne Slot’s men have nothing to play for, but I just think they have too much quality at Stamford Bridge.”

Back in the old days, the fact that Liverpool won the title last week would be great news for Chelsea. Nowadays, players aren’t as likely to have spent the week out on a bender. Even though the team has nothing left to play for except for pride, players are all so individually motivated to succeed for their own sake now that we can’t see much of a drop off from Arne Slot’s team.
