Pep Lijnders, formerly Jürgen Klopp’s right-hand man at Liverpool, has officially joined Manchester City, the club has confirmed.
He’s not coming alone either as James French, who’s been Liverpool’s opposition analyst since 2012, is also making the move. He’ll be taking on the role of set-piece coach at City.
Lijnders left Liverpool last summer following Klopp’s departure and took charge at Red Bull Salzbur for five months, overseeing 28 matches before his tenure ended.
During his time with Klopp, Lijnders contributed to Liverpool’s success in securing major titles, including the Premier League and Champions League.
With the departure of Juanma Lillo, Iñigo Domínguez, and Carlos Vicens, Pep Guardiola had to restructure his coaching staff.
