Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique was on Saturday drawn on the fresh speculation linking Xavi with a departure from the bench at La Liga giants Barcelona.

Enrique, for his part, of course boasts plenty of experience of his own in the dugout in Catalunya’s capital.

As much comes with the Spanish tactician having spent three years in charge of Barcelona, between 2014 and 2017.

A thoroughly productive stretch for both parties, Enrique oversaw a pair of La Liga titles, three Copa del Reys, a Champions League triumph, and more.

Safe to say, then, that the 54-year-old has no doubt been keeping a close eye on what has proven an altogether less successful season to date at his former club.

Recent days have of course seen it widely speculated that Blaugrana headmaster Xavi could imminently be sent on his way, amid fresh drama behind the scenes in Catalunya.

Speaking to the media in his latest press conference on Saturday, the subject of the potential opening on the bench back at the Camp Nou was in turn put to Luis Enrique.

The ex-Barca midfielder, however, was quick to shift the conversation elsewhere, in responding:

“I don’t know anything. I only watch French television. I’m obsessed with French TV shows. I don’t know about anything that happens outside of France.”
