According to a fresh update from MARCA, Real Madrid midfielder Reinier Jesus is currently in Brazil, training on his own while waiting for a new opportunity.
After a disappointing loan spell with Granada during the 2024/25 season, the 23-year-old attacking midfielder is set to return to Real Madrid, but neither Xabi Alonso nor the club see him as part of their plans going forward.
His time at Granada was supposed to be a fresh start. The club signed him on loan, hoping the Brazilian could revive his career in Spain’s Second Division. But instead of bouncing back, Reinier delivered another underwhelming season.
Despite showing early promise and sparking some excitement among fans, the spark quickly faded.
He ended the campaign with just one goal and four assists in 25 matches, starting only 14 of those. It was yet another missed chance to prove his worth.

Reinier’s situation looks no better this summer. Unlike last year, when he was occasionally seen training with the first team due to a lack of players during Euro 2024, he has not even been called up this time.
On June 9, when Xabi Alonso officially began pre-season work at Valdebebas, Reinier was not among those present. He is not in the plans for the first team, and even Castilla have no place for him.
The 23-year-old still has a contract with Real Madrid until 2026, but this season may be his final chance to salvage some pride. Once considered more promising than both Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo back in Brazil, Reinier now finds himself without a clear path.
For now, he is using his time in Brazil wisely, though, working with a personal fitness coach and physiotherapist in hopes of being ready for a fresh opportunity.
But as things stand, Reinier must find a new club before the season kicks off or risk being completely sidelined once again.
