Nottingham Forest grabbed a massive 2-1 win over Spurs on Monday night, nicking all three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and jumping back up to third in the table.

It didn’t take long to get going — just five minutes in, a corner dropped kindly to Elliot Anderson and his deflected strike put Forest 1-0 up.

Chris Wood thought he’d bagged another straight after but it was ruled out for offside. Didn’t matter in the end — he was back on the scoresheet minutes later with a tidy header to make it 2-0. Forest were flying and totally in control going into the break.

Spurs had most of the ball in the second half, but Forest kept it tight and focused on seeing the game out.

Richarlison gave the home crowd something to shout about with a bullet header in the 87th minute, setting up a nervy finish — but Forest held firm.

In the end, it was a well-earned win for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, who climb back into third spot. Spurs, meanwhile, are stuck down in 16th on 37 points — and that’s now 18 league defeats.
