Youssouf Fofana spoke briefly to the press after Milan’s 3-0 win over Empoli.
In the pre-match press conference coach Paulo Fonseca was asked if he would rest Fofana considering the player is one game away from suspension and the next opponent is Atalanta.
Fonseca answered that at the moment he can’t let Fofana sit out, and the Frenchman showed again tonight why he’s instrumental for Milan, playing a strong match alongside Tijjani Reijnders.
Milan won the game 3-0 with goals from Álvaro Morata (19′) and Reijnders (44′, 69′) and had an overall great evening in front of nearly 70k fans at San Siro. After the match, Youssouf spoke to DAZN:
There was concern about you possibly receiving a yellow card…“I’ll be available for the next match; with a yellow card, I would have been suspended. I was careful – if I thought I was going to get it, I would have taken it.”
Still in the race for the title?“Milan must always aim for the best, both in the Champions League and the league.”
