Barcelona boss Hansi Flick could not have asked for a better way to wrap up the La Liga season.
His side cruised to a confident 3-0 win against Athletic Club, giving fans a final glimpse of the football they have come to enjoy under his leadership.
After the game, Flick spoke honestly about his feelings. “It was the perfect send-off,” he said.
“We wanted to finish strong and stay true to the way we’ve played all season. I’m proud that the team delivered just that.”

Flick took a moment to appreciate goalkeeper Inaki Pena, who started the match and kept a clean sheet. “He’s been upset with some of the choices I’ve made lately,” Flick admitted.
“But he has always trained hard and shown great attitude. I felt he earned this chance. I’m not sure if it was his final game, but I wanted to thank him properly. He played really well today.”
When asked about signing a new goalkeeper, Flick remained respectful but cautious.
“Joan Garcia is a great talent, but he’s not part of our team right now,” he said. “We’ve got three strong keepers, especially now that Marc-Andre ter Stegen is back.”

Flick also gave his thoughts on Real Madrid’s new manager, Xabi Alonso. “I know Xabi well,” he said.
“He’s done a great job in Germany. He’s raised the level at Bayer and made many players better. I respect him, and it’s good to see him doing well.”
Looking ahead, Flick acknowledged the need to find a top striker but pointed out how tough that can be. “We’ll see what the future brings,” he said.
“Finding someone who fits our style and level isn’t easy. But I’m pleased with how the current group has performed.”
