The DFL, the Deutsche Fußball Liga, the governing body of the top two tiers of football in Germany, has announced the 2025-26 fixture lists for the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga.

Champions Bayern Munich kick off the 2025/26 season at the Allianz Arena against RB Leipzig.

Eight-time Deutsche Meister Borussia Dortmund will kick off their campaign away to FC St Pauli on either 23/24 August. DFB Pokal winners travel to Union Berlin on match day 1.

The newly promoted team, Hamburger SV, will open against Borussia Mönchengladbach, 1. FC Köln are away to Mainz 05.

The Winterpause, or mid-season break, will be from 21/12 to 5/1/26; the final game of the season will be on 16/5/26.

2. Bundesliga

The fixtures for the second tier, the 2. The Bundesliga has also been announced. The opening game is between 7-time champions Schalke 04 and Hertha Berlin on Friday, 1 August 2030 (CET).

Newly relegated VfL Bochum, who are likely to be among the favourites for promotion, are scheduled to play away at Darmstadt 98 on 3 August. Times are to be confirmed.

Newly-promoted sides Dynamo Dresden will open at 3-time champions Greuther Fürth. DFB Pokal finalists, newly promoted Arminia Bielefeld, are at home on match day 1 to Fortuna Düsseldorf.

The mid-season break in the second tier will be from December 21 to January 18, 2026, with the season ending on May 17, 2026.

The games in the top two tiers in Germany are scheduled in blocks and announced during the season; the first will be announced between July 7 and 11.

DFB Pokal

The draw for the first round of the DFB Pokal, the German FA Cup, which has been taking place since 1935, took place on June 15.

The first round is scheduled for 26/27 August. The full list of fixtures can be found here.

The winners will take home a prize of €11 million. The final at the 75,000 capacity Berlin Olympiastadion will be on 23 May 2026.
