Fiorentina goalkeeper David De Gea has confirmed that midfielder Edoardo Bove is “doing better” after his health scare against Inter Milan.
The Spaniard briefly spoke to Italian outlet Firenzeviola.it after visiting Bove in the hospital yesterday.
Yesterday’s Serie A match between Fiorentina and Inter at the Stadio Artemio Franchi came to a sudden and dramatic halt after a medical emergency for Viola midfielder Bove.
The 22-year-old collapsed away from the action around the fifteenth minute of play.
Emotional scenes ensued as Bove was unconscious on the pitch. Both sets of players were visibly distraught.
In the end, the teams did not play on after the incident.
Bove did not regain consciousness at any point at the stadium after he collapsed. He was rushed to hospital.
Bove’s Fiorentina teammates have been close by him after yesterday’s shock health scare. Subsequently, the Viola players have visited the Italian international in the hospital.
Therefore, reports indicate that Bove has recovered and is in stable condition. Furthermore, Bove is conscious, responsive, and has not suffered permanent damage.
Bove will be undergoing further tests today after yesterday’s collapse.
Furthermore, FIorentina keeper De Gea and striker Lucas Beltran visited Bove in the hospital today.
In conclusion De Gea said that Bove is “doing better” after the visit, with reporters asking him about his teammate’s condition.
