FC Porto are reportedly looking to increase Rodrigo Mora’s release clause to between €80-100 million.

The Red Devils have been trying to implement Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 all season and while there have been signs of improvement lately, there are still massive problems to address.

Despite there being options such as Mason Mount, Joshua Zirkzee and Alejandro Garnacho, nobody has convincingly nailed down a place as one of the number 10s in the Portuguese manager’s system.

Therefore, United will look to recruit in this area in the summer and there have been links to Wolverhampton Wanderers’ star Matheus Cunha.

The Old Trafford side have also been linked with 17 year old starlet Mora, who plays his football at FC Porto in Portugal.

It has been reported that Arsenal and United are both interested in the youngster and that that Amorim wanted him when he was coach at Sporting CP.

O Jogo report (via Sport Witness) that the young attacking midfielder currently has a release clause of €40 million.

Nonetheless, his fine performances this season have reportedly convinced Porto that he is worth substantially more and they are “making attempts to bring the clause up to between €80m and €100m.”

The Portuguese side are aware that United and Paris Saint-Germain are sniffing around the starlet and want to “scare” the European giants away from Mora by inserting a huge release clause.

Porto reportedly already have an easier route to increasing his value as there is seemingly a clause in Mora’s current deal which sees his release clause rise to €67.5m, if he plays a certain number of games this season.

The report finishes by stating there is no obvious evidence that United will make a move this summer but Porto do not want to take any chances.

The youngster has been described as a “unique talent” who already excels at numerous attacking traits. He has played 26 senior games this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
